Why is Shiva called Bholenath? :- Lord Shiva is known by many names. from neelkanth to pasupatinath to bholenath, every name has a special significance. Why would a god, known for his anger and the destruction it causes, be called bholenath? Bhole means one who is Innocent, and nath refers to king. So, that makes him, the king of innocents. It can be attributed to the fact that lord shiva has no malice or deceit in him. he has never Tricked anyone. Also, It is very easy to Please lord shiva. Most of teh times, he is calm. devotees incur his wrath only by misdeeds or wrongdoings. Shiva also undertook many difficult tasks for manking. from gulping posion to meditating in harsh conditions, he devoted his life for his bhakts. May Bholenath always bless you.
