  • Being a student of science, how did you turn into spirituality?
Asked By Sarin on Nov 23, 2011
Well, I do not consider myself as a spiritual person because i don't do any kind of meditation nor do i chant mantras daily nor do i visit temples/other places of worship regularly.
To answer the question , let me explain it with the help of analogy.
In india, Some are fans of amitabh bachhan, some are fans of sachin tendulkar and some of shahrukh khan and so on.. Depending upon the likeliness, lifestyle, belief, approach and thinking of the individual, her/his role model changes.Similarly, I have been greatly impressed by the character of lord krishna, his teachings of bhagavad gita, his deeds, acts, integrity etc and hence, follow him diligently. Also, Being a kshatriya, it is my custom and moral duty to follow and preach the path of dharma yoga (Moral Duty),karma yoga(cycle of cause and effect) and gyana yoga(Spreading knowledge) and that is what, i am trying to do through this website.

  • How is hindusm diffrent from other religion? why should one follow hinduism?
Asked By Sarin on Nov 23, 2011
    1) Hinduism was never a religion(Persians(westerners) termed sanatana dharma as a hindu religion). Sanatana dharma consist of a set of principles, customs and traditions written, adopted and acknowledged by various great sages and ascetic guru's. In reality, Sanatana dharma is a way of living life.
    2) Since Hinduism is not based on the teachings of any one person or any one source(Buddha in Budhism, muhammad in islam) and it's an amalgamation of experience of vedas(Vedic Saints) and various spiritual gurus. Since, it is not limited to an individual view or any one source view, it's perhaps the best reason to follows hinduism.
    3) Hinduism is the religion which is based on logic and Vedas contains explanations for every fundamental aspects of life. Morever, vedic saints were the first to discover many scientific and mathematicals concepts thousands of years ago, proved later by modern scientists and mathematicians.
    4) Hinduism doesn't stop you from following traditions and customs of other religions. it also allows praying to other religions gods because hinduism believes in Omnipresence of god and hence, even other gods are part of the same supreme lord.
    5) Hindus are believer of karma and re-incarnation which stops them from doing sins provided they are not an atheist. 6) No other religions scriptures are so vast and long than the scriptures in hinduism (4 books on vedas, 18-20 books on puranas ,108-200 upanishad, bhagavad gita and two longest epic poems of the world 'mahabharata' and 'ramyan')
    7) Hinduism scriptures doesn't speak against belief of other religions (Ex: Abolishment of Idolatory in islam and christainity)
    8) It is a well-known fact that hinduism is the oldest practised major religions today and also the mother of three other religions(sikhism, jainism and budhism). Founders of all this religions were from a hindu kshatriya race. Morever, india has given more spiritual gurus than all other countries combiningly and is well known as the top spiritual nation. Daily, thousands of foreigner from all over the world comes to india seeking enlightment. for more reasons, follow my blogs

  • Can you prove that god exists? If not, then how can you preach bhagavad gita so diligently believing that god exists ?
Asked By Friend on Nov 23, 2011
Well, it will be very difficult for even great sages and monks to show existence of god to an ignorant person. So, me proving the existence of god is out of question. In this kaliyuga, it is almost impossible for anyone to see god provided he is not dreaming. However, you can experience it and for experiencing it, you need to remove your ignorance first. Moreover, Believing in god is not a pre-requisite of preaching gita. I teach bhagavad gita for the following reason:
    1) Even if anyone is a athiest or non-believer of god, still more than 50 % of bhagavad gita is applicable to him/ her. In fact, every individual has a lot to learn from it because it is not based on religion, It shows the way of living life, life full of dignity , priciples and character.
    2) During my birth, due to some technical glitches by the doctors, i was born very weak. Doctors said that i will not survive for more than few hours/few days. Neglecting the doctors claims, My grandparents bought me up following some old rituals and ancient techniques of ayurveda. Today i am 26y yrs old, healthy and fine. o, I consider my life as a blessing and Hence, i think, i should pay obeisance to my saviour by preaching the righteous message of bhagavad gita.
3)It is the moral responsibility of each human being to spread the message of humanity, principles, peace and harmony. These messages are soul of bhagavad gita.

  • I used to worship god regularly but my wish never got fullfilled. i don't think god exist?
Asked By Saddy on Nov 23, 2011
Let me explain you with the help of following scenarios:
    1) Send help/Request letter to the president/prime minister for few times and see if he listens to you. Technically, he can't help you because If he spend his time responding to letters like your's, then he will be flooded by help letters from every citizen and he will get no time to address nation issues. Here, If the president of the country is not interested in helping you, then how do you expect the president of the universe(God) to help you.
    2) Suppose you Send help/Request letter to the president/prime minister continously for years or you do something extra-ordinary showcasing your commitment, devotion and importance of your Request. In this case, the president will be impressed and will be forced to shower help on you provided your request is beyond his limits.
Similarly, god also expects his devotees to show continous devotion, hardwork and commitment towards him. Morever, he also expects you to be a full of principles, character and righteous persons. Only then , your wish will be fulfilled

  • Why only bhagavad gita? why don't you teach other religous text like quran, bible etc since they also have more or less the same message?
Asked By Anonymous on Nov 23, 2011
Because i have the limited knowledge of quran, bible and other religous texts and thus, not a right person to advocate such religous texts. However, i would like to adress one point here. If you don't follow one's religion then you dshould never disgrace that religion. So, it is indeed wrong that some religous text prohibits idolatory, mediatation, yoga and ayurveda which is specific to hinduism and its derived religions like jainism, sikhism and budhism.

  • How do you support idolatory? how can you pray to stone-made human forms as god?
Asked By Akram on Nov 23, 2011
Idolatory exists everywhere. Even people of other religions follows idolatory in one way or the other. Actors treats amitabh bachhan/ tom cruise as their idol and praise them. Young cricketers praise sachin tendulkar as their idol and keep his poster in their home and so on.. In short, everyone has their own idol. Everyone praise their idol for their qualities. Everyone worship their idol because they want to become like their idols. similarly, some hindu pray to lord shiva, some hindu pray to lord vishnu and some hindus pray all gods.
Coming to the second question , let me put it in this way.
Value of any object change according to the forms it takes. For Ex: Thousand of stones thrown roadside are of no value but if a house is built out from such stones, then each stone is of great value. Piece of coal is of no value but if diamond is found in that piece of coal, then the same piece is worth thousands of crores. similarly, It is believed that when an idol of god is carved out of stone, then it is no longer treated as a stone. Moreover, It is believed that seeing the sculptors perseverance ,hardwork and devotees faith, god get's impressed and a part of the god stays with that stone carved idol forever. This is why, idols are worshipped in hinduism.

  • Do you believe in the existence of god?If not, then why do u worship god?
Asked By Ram on Nov 23, 2011
Well, i cannot prove the existence of god. I also cannot say for sure if god exists/not exists.
However, I believe and worship god for the following reason: 1) If we don't believe in god, then we will also not believe in religious text like geeta, quran, bible etc. If we don't believe in such religious text, then it can easily disregard good moral qualities like truth, dharma, karma etc and it's very highly probable that we will resort to illegal means to gain wealth and prosperity. Already the world is full of corrupt peoples. So, I think that i should be against such illegal activities not only for my karma but also for the sake of humanity(degrading day by day). If i am not doing good then atleast I should not be doing bad. Morever, fear of wrath of god will always drive me toward the righteous path. So, for the sake of becoming a righteous person, i want to believe in god.
2)Science do teach us how things happen but it does not have explanation to each and every mystery of life. Even the great scientist like newton and einstein(They were atheist intially) did not deny the existence of some spiritual force called as god. Even though geeta and vedas phiosophy cannot be proved as 100% correct but still, it answers all the msysteries of our existence and experience.
3)In temples, i always feel some positive energy flowing around. Also doing all these spiritual activities gives me immense joy, peace and happiness. Worshipping gods has been our Customs, tradition and culture since centuries. So, It will be very immoral to go against our ancestors, culture and customs. Also, Listening to spiritual songs are the best things i have ever experienced in my life.4)All great souls believed, worshipped in god in one way or other. Ex. Gandhiji, Swami vivekanand, dalai lama, Lord buddha. Only spirituality has changed the life of many mens across the generations. Morever, spirituality has changed many king's thinking and have saved this world from many wars and this king became great only when they embraced spirituality and non-violence. Ex. Ashoka-the great, Akbar-the great etc.
    4) Spirituality is the cure of many diseases which is scientifically unexplained. Ex) Diffrent types of yoga and meditation are known to cure diseases

  • Why there are millions of gods in Hinduism?
Asked By Akram on Nov 23, 2011
Well, there is only one god in Hinduism and the millions of other are not god but dieties(demi-god) with magnificient and supreme power.Even a Hindu child knows that, all these deities are the manifestations of one supreme God (Iúvara or Brahman).
Vedas clearly specify that there is One and only One Ishwar.
The Vedas refer to not millions of dieties but 33 types (Koti in Sanskrit) of dieties. These are
8 Vasus (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Sky, Moon, Sun, Stars/ Planets) that form components of universe where we live,
10 Life Forces in our body or Prana (Prana, Apana, Vyana, Udana, Samaana, Naga, Kurma, Kukala, Devadatta) and 1 Soul called Rudra,
12 Aditya or months of year,
1 Vidyut or Electromagnetic force that is of tremendous use to us
1 Yajna or constant noble selfless deeds done by humans
Now praying to this dieties is a mater of belief. It is said that the supreme lord has created these dieties(demi-god) in nature and each such demi-gods has the power of destroying the world or preserving the world. Ex: Air(Lord Pawan) is the necessity of every human being to live but the same air can turn into cyclone or bloomder to create great havoc and destruction. Same kind of destructuion and necessity we have with fire (Lord Agni), water (Lord Indra) etc. So, each of these demi-god are are also worshipped so that they don't create any havoc on earth. It is further said that gods(demi-gods) on order of the supreme god comes, on earth in diffrent forms so as to remove evil & fear and mantain truth, peace and harmony. Each of this human-born god forms are representation of the demi-god who themselves are part of the supreme lord and that is why, this human-born god forms are also worshipped. Over the time, many such human-born god forms came to earth through generations and all of them were worshipped, which ultimately resulted in millions of gods.
Following text from rigveda will prove my point of one god:
Ek? sadviprâ bahudhâ vadanti Agni? Yama? Mâtariúvânam âhu? -RV (1/164/46). (God is one but people call Him by many names like Agni, yama, Mâtariúvâ etc.)
Note: The Rig-Veda is globally recognized and accepted as the oldest book created by man

  • Why to worship demi-gods? why not to worship the supreme lord only?
Asked By Sameer on Nov 23, 2011
You can pray anyone you like. Hinduism doesn't object praying even to jesus or allah.
Let me answer your question by an example.
Suppose you want to meet president of your country. Either you can meet him directly or you can meet him through some reference.Meeting President directly is very difficult but Impressing the chief minister of your state(compared to president) is easy. So, you will think of impressing the chief minister and request him for a meeting with president.
Similarly, It is believed that impressing the demi-god is easier than the supreme lord and since this demi-god are part of the supreme god, worshipping demi-god is same as worshipping the supreme lord. Morever, it is said that all gods needs to be respected and worshipped for their deeds, qualities and powers.
Following text from Bhagavad gita will make it more clear.
Ye api anya devatâ bhaktâ yajante úraddhayânvita?
    Te api mameva kaunteya yajantyabidhipûrbakam
O Kaunteya (Arjuna), even those who worship other gods with devotion (bhakti), they do really worship Me, though the rite differ from the norm"
So it is very common to see hindus going to dargah/church/ gurudwaras etc

  • Is Hindus monethistic? Why There are thousands of gods in hinduism?
Asked By Iqbal on Nov 23, 2011
Hinduism is monethistic. Apparently it appears to a commoner that Hinduism is polytheistic as Hindus worship idols of many deities. But whosoever has tried to delve into it has found that Hinduism is absolutely monotheistic. In Hinduism, God (or Îúvara) is one, but deities are many. AllHindus knows that, all these deities are the manifestations of one God (Ishvara or Brahman).
For the second questions, please refer answer of question 8

  • Should one practise vegeterainism to become a true follower of god?
Asked By Raju on Nov 23, 2011
Well, It is not compulsory but you should practise vegeterainism for moral reasons. Even if you are not a follower a god, you should refrain from killing innocent animals. In all hindu scriptures, you will find that killing innocent creatures is an act of rakshasa(Demons). Leave aside the spiritual gurus, even the great scientists like Einstein and Newton practised vegeterainism. Doctors also recommend vegeterainism for better healthy life since chances of diseases from non-veg food is 10-100 times more compared to veg foods.

  • Scientifically, it is proven that even plants have life. All human beings daily consume millions of bacteria through water and air? Then, how vegeterains can call themselves as non-killers? Aren't we gifted to eat both veg and non-veg food?
Asked By Raju on Nov 23, 2011
Yeah, this is the most favourite questions of all non-veg guys against veg guys. If you dont want to practise vegeterainism then dont follow it but please don't humiliate and insult vegeterainism. I will give many reasons to show that all non-vegetarains are indeed wrong to think and come out with such types of questions just to satisfy their hunger and taste:
    1) In order to live, we have to eat something. God has given plants the ability to survive and grow again as long as they are not removed from their roots. Plants don't die when you pluck fruits from them. Now, You many ask that there are many such plants which needs to be removed from root. Yes but Eating of such plants are abandoned in jainism. Hence, jainism is known as truest form of vegeterainism. However, others are still vegeterain(Why?Read Other Points)
    2) Most veg food is taken from the plant without killing it, or as in the case of root veg or grains, when the plant has reached the end of their natural life anyway.
    3) Animals have the mobility feature, which is used to search for food, to defend itself from the predators, which are clear signs of living and enjoying life. If we try to kill any hen, sheep or goat, they simply try to escape to save their lives. Actually, they beg you for their life but u don't show any sympathy towards them. Plants don't show any such signs of life.
    4) if I cut a portion of a plant, it can grow back again, Whereas if I cut a portion of your body, my body, or an animal’s body it will NOT grow back’. Doesn't it mean, animals are not meant to be cut while plants are.
    5) Size does matter. Microscopic organisms die every seconds, while breathing by humans. But that doesnt make us culprits, as our act of breathing is not intended to kill the micro-organisms. Not all air and water consist of micro-organisms and while breathing, we don't kill them intentionally, they die naturally. Also, while slaughtering small animals like birds will not cause that much distress, as while killin a big cow or a camel, because we can see the gush of blood & the suffering of such big animals taking 10 – 15 min just to die & the visual impact which has on our psyche and mind.
    6) Animals and Humans are from the SAME SCIENTIFIC CLASS OF ANIMALIA. IN FACT HUMANS R FORMS OF ANIMALS. Being the most rational and intelligent animal, is it good to eat your own mate.
    7) Suppose one animals eats thousands of plants in his lifetime, then that animal is eaten by one or max ten people. if we directly ate those plants instead of that animal, we would be able to feed hundred times people more. It is estimated that one chick eat more than 10 kg of rice(or its equivalent) in his lifetime before becoming an adult chicken. How much sense does it make to raise such an animal?
    8) There is no evidence that only meat eating makes you stronger. Even the wrestling world champion these days, Sushil Kumar, is a vegetarian. Even Great scientists like einstien and APJ kalam(Muslim) practised vegeterainism. Why? for many reason with one being the list of diseases by consumption of non veg food 100 times greater compared to veg food.
9)scientific experiments have shown that plants do react to stimuli, eg. cutting, burning, pressure. But their level of pain is negligible as compared to animals. We cannot call this reaction as pain and if it is called pain, then We should live our life with the aim to commit the least amount of suffering/pain to others.
    10) Plants are in inert unconscious state and do not feel pain like patients in coma. There is no soul in plants comapared to animal. We know for sure, that animals feel pain, have face and enjoy life the way we do. When they are butchered, they wriggle in pain in same manner that you would do. But for plants you are not 100% sure. In fact there is no evidence that plants face the same pain as you do when butchered. So, its better to eat plants even from a probabilistic standpoints.
    11) God created two forms of animals: Meat-eaters and Herbivores. Below comparision is enough to show that god intended human to be a Herbivores(Vegeterain).

    Meat-eaters: have claws,
    Herbivores: no claws
    Humans: no claws

Meat-eaters: have no skin pores and perspire through the tongue,
    Herbivores: perspire through skin pores,
    Humans: perspire through skin pores

Meat-eaters: have sharp front teeth for tearing, with no flat molar teeth for grinding,
Herbivores: no sharp front teeth, but flat rear molars for grinding,
Humans: no sharp front teeth, but flat rear molars for grinding

Meat-eaters: have intestinal tract that is only 3 times their body length so that rapidly decaying meat can pass through quickly,
Herbivores: have intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length.,
Humans: have intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length.

Meat-eaters: have strong hydrochloric acid in stomach to digest meat
Herbivores: have stomach acid that is 20 times weaker than that of a meat-eater
Humans: have stomach acid that is 20 times weaker than that of a meat-eater

Meat-eaters: salivary glands in mouth not needed to pre-digest grains and fruits.
Herbivores: well-developed salivary glands which are necessary to pre-digest grains and fruits
Humans: well-developed salivary glands, which are necessary to pre-digest, grains and fruits

Meat-eaters: have acid saliva with no enzyme ptyalin to pre-digest grains
Herbivores: have alkaline saliva with ptyalin to pre-digest grains
Humans: have alkaline saliva with ptyalin to pre-digest grains

Since humans are rational beings, it is appropriate to study the pros & cons of all these natural secrets, they have to act judiciously to maintain the perfect balance of nature's food cycle
